Game overview

Survival, crafting, and a mystery on an alien world

Signs of Life is a 2D sci-fi survival game about getting stranded on an alien planet, making useful things out of whatever you find, and slowly realizing the place has a much bigger story than you expected.

The colony mission goes very badly

Humanity sends two ships toward a potentially habitable planet 14 light-years from Earth. The scout ship Hermes arrives first. Four years later, the colony ship Hephaestus stops to investigate a faint signal from a nearby asteroid—and is destroyed.

You make it to the planet with little more than your clothes, a wrist-mounted laser, and an unreliable AI companion named AGIS. Staying alive is the first job. Finding out what happened, and what was already waiting on the planet, comes next.

A different wilderness each time, with story locations built by hand

The caves and landscape change when you start a new world, giving you plenty of room to mine, build, and wander. Ruins, facilities, and other important places are built by hand, so the story still has real locations, clues, and surprises to find.
