Combat and tools¶
A short orientation. Damage numbers, ammo types, and creature stats belong on the generated item and creature pages.
Melee¶
- Light attacks chain into combos on many weapons; heavy / charged attacks cost more stamina and hit harder.
- Stamina exhaustion stops attack chains — watch the stamina bar before diving into a pack of enemies.
- Some weapons hide the back arm or change walk style while attacking; that is normal.
Ranged and throwables¶
- Guns and bows need compatible ammo in inventory (or the weapon’s clip).
- Throwables (grenades, pots, seeds, nuts) usually arm on throw and resolve on impact — read the item page for special plant or explosion behavior.
Tools¶
- Picks mine denser tiles more slowly; upgrade when you stall on hard stone.
- Axes clear flora and wood structures efficiently compared to swords.
- Utility gadgets (scanners, lights, shields) often sit on the Z/X quick slots rather than the 1–8 hotbar — see Controls.
Creatures¶
Aggressive fauna telegraph attacks differently; when in doubt, kite and use terrain. Boss and story fights may gate on tools or story flags the early-game guide does not cover.
